Hello, I'm new to Open Realty. I don't have any php or apache knowledge. How do i go about installing Open Realty. I'm a developer and want to call the open realty tool from a website that I run on my localhost. Thank you.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. I'm stuck with Step 4. Connecting to MYSQL. I have an empty database set up but still says cannot connect to your database. Please check your configuration. Please help.

Sobhana,

Although I'm obviously not familiar with your particular case, if you are receiving a database connection error message, you need to make sure that you are entering the correct details to access your database for use with OpenRealty. Typically these are database name, database user, database password and server (typically "localhost").

I trust that after a year (since your question) that you have now resolved this issue so I'm posting this as a guide for others that may have a similar problem!

OR requires a PHP server with ionCube, a database and web server.

Assuming you are using windows, your local PC needs to be running a development stack such as XAMPP that includes PHP v5.3 up to v5.5 that is configured to meet OR's server requirements.

Server reqs:

XAMPP:

You must have the ionCube loader installed that matches your PHP version:

https://www.ioncube.com/loaders.php

Your local PC must also have outgoing, unrestricted access to the internet.

If you are unfamiliar with setting-up and operating a local development environment, you will save a lot of time and frustration by using a regular hosting account that meets OR's server requirements.
