Open Realty PHP 5.3 Compatibility
I've looked on this website as well as the old Open Realty Support Forums but cannot find an answer to my question: is OR v2.5.7 compatible with PHP 5.3?
Our hosting company is upgrading their servers to PHP 5.3 and a client is currently running OR v2.5.7. Understanding that he needs to upgrade to OR v3.x, however if that doesn't happen before the PHP 5.3 upgrade, will his site continue to work normally?
Thank you very much for any advice.

No, OR v2.x is not compatible with PHP v5.3+
When the host upgrades to PHP v5.3, OR v2 will begin displaying error messages on just about every page. You can still upgrade to ORv3 after that however.

BTW, OR v3.x is compatible with PHP 5.3 correct?
Thanks again.

Yes, OR v3 is definitely PHP 5.3 compatible. You will want to make sure you have had the host verify they support all of OR's server requirements beforehand, these are not the same as OR v2.

Apologies, one more question...
The site (bennettprop.com) is currently using the "Liquid-Realty" template which I've modified here and there. When upgrading to OR v3.x will that still work or will we need to start over...or since the owner really likes the current look is there possibly an updated version of that template we'd need to use?
FWIW I'm going to have him switch to OR Pro ASAP and I may be able to move him to a better template if you have any suggestions and/or sources.
Thanks again!

You will need to upgrade the template to work with OR v3.
Info:
You can check the OR Extras site for free templates, the people who posted those also have paid templates on their websites linked from there.

Excellent...thanks very much. I just noted that Transparent offers a $15/mo. web hosting option that would probably suit this client's small business. I opened a web sales ticket to see what it would take to move/upgrade this site to Transparent. I think that would probably be the ideal situation with respect to keeping it current, etc. Hopefully I'll hear back soon.
Thank you again!
