SEO - Drop in google rankings

I used to be around 3rd on the google but since moving to V3 and up our site has been slowly dropping in google rankings. We are now on page 3.

site is http://www.propertypro.co.za

Just wondering if anyone else has had similar issues and if there are any suggestions / recommendations out there?

regards,

Wesley

Lots of different things affect SE ranking including increased competition and the methods the SEs use to determine ranking. Google for instance has changed their ranking algorithms a few times in the last few years and a lot of SEO "tricks" people used to use to gain higher rank are no longer valid, and can now actually penalize you.

Google otherwise provides a handy guide for SEO.

Thanks for the link. I am going through it and adjusting website accordingly.

one of the problems is that the {load_meta_keywords} and {load_meta_description} are repeated on a lot of the pages except for the pages I have added and manual created keywords and description through the admin console.

For example I have a shortcut to "houses for sale" and "flats for sale"

http://www.propertypro.co.za/index.php?pclass[]=1&action=searchresults

http://www.propertypro.co.za/index.php?pclass[]=2&action=searchresults

The tags are the same as the home page which is the default tag. Is it possible to manually overide this or make it more dynamic?

Im referring to these tags

{load_meta_keywords} and {load_meta_description}

It cause the description and keywords to be repeated throughout the site.

Have a look through my posts on using the meta_tag_rename function. Have posted a sample file to modify a lot of the pages to reduce duplicate titles/meta tags.

You can see the various effects at our website
