Two installations, one database

Can two installations of OR share one database? The idea was that one install could be english the other spanish.

If you are a developer, you could use the remote API to connect one site to another.

Thanks,

I had a read of the documentation re API and it comes across as a way to connect othe types of site to be able to share data, am I correct?

If I install a new OR site, cant I just copy the common.php and use that in the new site giving the same access details for the database?

The API can be used for lots of things, but primarily for accessing & modifying OR data locally or remotely. You can use it to bypass the add listing and listing editor features in favor of your own functions for example, or to retrieve listing data for display or insertion elsewhere.

I don't know how you are going to be able to share 1 license key that is stored in the first site's DB between both sites using common.php. OR requires 1 key per install

Appreciate your coments, but it looks as though I'm stumped.

I just had a look at OR vers 1 docs which I did a site in 2004, it says multi-language support will be added ASAP!!! Maybe in another 8 years?

Goals and priorities do change. ASAP does mean as soon as possible

I cannot speak for Transparent Tech on this subject, but my guess would be that the number of people who want simultaneous multilingual support that have also purchased OR Pro licenses is simply not large enough yet to justify the massive amount of work required to build it in.
